There are two trims for 2016; The GLC 300 4-door and the GLC 300 4MATIC. Each is equipped with a 2.0L Turbocharged four-cylinder engine and either an all-wheel-drive (AWD) or rear-wheel-drive (RWD) drivetrain.

The SUV is available in a variety of exterior and interior colors and comes fitted with 18-inch alloy wheels with the option of 19.5-inch spoke alloy wheels. Additional options include heated windshield washing system, trailer hitch, brushed aluminum running boards, and a power sunroof.

The GLC 300 is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged Inline-4-cylinder V-6 engine with 241 horsepower at 5550 rpm and 273 lb-ft of torque at 1,300-4,000 rpm. A 9-speed automatic transmission completes the package and provides expert handling.

Changes to the GLC for 2017 include the addition of three trims along with the GLC 300 and GLC 300 4MATIC. These include the GLC 300 4MATIC Coupe, AMG GLC 43 4MATIC SUV, and the AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe. The AMG 43 4MATIC SUV and 43 4MATIC Coupe come with a Twin Turbo Premium Unleaded V-6 3.0L engine. The other 2017 trims retain the standard 2.0-liter Inline-4-cylinder engine.

For 2018, Mercedes-Benz has added the AMG GLC 63, with a powerful twin-turbocharged V-8 engine producing 469 horsepower in the standard trims and 503 horsepower in the coupe.

The GLC 300 and GLC 300 4MATIC provide a quick, smooth, and quiet ride along with exceptional handling and maneuverability. The SUV is equipped with a 4-wheel Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), stability control, traction control, and trailer stability control. Because the GLC is lightweight, it's capable of quick acceleration equal to that of its predecessor the GLK.

Fuel economy for the GLC 300 4MATIC is estimated at 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. The GLC 300's mpg is 22 in the city and 28 on the highway.

With ample seating for five, the GLC is a comfortable ride on the highway or off-road adventures. For driving comfort, the GLC features cruise control, electric power steering, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, leather steering wheel, universal remote transmitter, remote power door locks, and a keyless ignition. Seating includes a 10-way power driver's seat, 4-way power passenger seat, bucket seats in the front, split-folding rear seat with folding center armrest, and adjustable height and lumbar support for the driver seat.

The SUV is equipped AM/FM stereo with two subwoofers, a USB connection, memory card slot, auxiliary audio input, USB with an external media connection, and speed-sensitive volume control. Optional features include heated front seats, surround sound system, heated steering wheel, rear door roller blinds, SiriusXM radio, and 3-zone climate control.

Standard safety features include front and rear headrests, front and rear airbags, rear center 3-point belt, and dual front side-mounted airbags. The GLC includes child seat anchors, rear door child safety locks, dusk-sensing headlights, traction control, stability control, emergency braking assist, a backup camera, four-wheel Automatic Braking System (ABS), brake drying, and front and rear ventilated disc brakes.
