Trim Levels


Choose a sedan or coupe when considering the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class available in the following trims: C300 sedan, C450 AMG, AMG C63 sedan, AMG C63 S sedan, C300d diesel, and C350e plug-in hybrid.

In 2017, two new models were added: the C-Class Coupe and the C-Class Cabriolet. Minor changes to the 2017 models include the addition of a rearview camera and several new exterior color choices. A significant change in the 2018 C-Class category is the addition of the 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission replacing the 7-speed automatic transmission on the 2017 models.

Engine


The C300 sedan comes equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine with a 7-speed automatic transmission, and that can produce 241 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. This model is available with the standard rear-wheel drive (RWD), or buyers can opt for the 4MATIC all-wheel drive (AWD).

A twin-turbocharged V6 3.0-liter engine provides the power for the C450 AMG. This model comes standard with 4MATIC all-wheel drive and is capable of producing 362 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque.

The AMG C63 and AMG C63 S sedan models feature a powerful 4.0-liter V-8 turbocharged engine. The C63 produces 469 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, and the C63 S produces 503 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque.

Four cylinders power the C350e hybrid that has an estimated range of 18.6 miles of running time using the battery. The C300d has the best fuel economy with an estimated 40 mpg on the highway.

Performance


Sport-tuned, comfort-tuned, or Airmatic adjustable suspension combined with quick acceleration, a strong braking system, and powerful engine support increase maneuverability for a comfortable ride.

EPA ratings for city/highway fuel economy state that the C300 sedan rear-wheel-drive model uses 25/34 mpg while the all-wheel-drive model uses 24/31 mpg. The C450 uses 21/29 mpg, and the AMG model is at 18/25 mpg.

Interior


Comfort, convenience, and entertainment options are part of the C-Class appeal. The interior features a well-designed layout highlighted with aluminum and wood finishes or synthetic leather upholstery. Standard equipment includes a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, 14-way power sport seats, 40/20/40-split folding rear seat backs, keyless start, and dual-zone climate control.

For entertainment, you can connect your phone and audio using Bluetooth, use the COMAND infotainment system, enjoy audio streaming and HD radio, or listen to the CD player.

Optional interior and multimedia packages include ventilated seats, leather upholstery, LED ambient lighting, voice control, 10-gigabyte music hard drive, and 8.4-inch navigation screen. There's also the Air Balance Package that uses a diffuser to send fragrances through the air-conditioning system to keep the cabin interior fresh.

Safety Features


Standard features on the C-Class models include driver and passenger air bags, front, side, and rear air bags, and child safety locks. C-Class models are equipped with a four-wheel anti-lock braking system, four-wheel disc brakes, Brake Assist, traction control, and Electronic Stability Control (ESC). Driver assistance features include blind-spot monitoring, integrated turn signal mirrors, lane-departure, and lane-keep assist.

Optional packages include the Parking Assist Package with Parktronic, Active Parking Assist and a Surround View camera. The Driver Assistance Package includes blind-spot assist and an active lane-keep assist system.
